This is Shaykh Abdurahmaan ash-Shagouri. Shaykh Aburahmaan, like Shaykh Hazim Abu Ghazaleh, received ‘ijazah in the Shadhili Order from Shaykh Muhammad al-Hashimi. Shaykh Abdurahmaan later issued ‘ijazah in this Way to Shaykh Muhammad al-Yacoubi and Shaykh Nuh Ha Mim Keller, amongst others. Shaykh Aburahmaan passed on recently, may Allah sanctify his secret, Ameen.

Shaykh Hazim Abu Ghazaleh and his son, Shaykh Ahmad Abu Ghazaleh. Shaykh Ahmad currently resides in Brisbane, Australia where he is a principal of an Islamic school. He is also a world-acclaimed Quran reciter and Nasheed singer. This photo was taken in Pretoria, South Africa in 2005. Shaykh Ahmad regularly travels to South Africa to translate for Shaykh Hazim.
